Wise Penny Building
This stand alone retail building in the University District was built in 1946. As a red brick building it was home to the Junior League of Seattle’s thrift shop earning it the Wise Penny name. We refurbished the building’s exterior with stucco, changing its look entirely. The Wise Penny is located on the District’s primary retail street, University Avenue, nicknamed “the Ave”, two blocks from the University of Washington. The building is a short distance to Lake Union, the University of Washington Medical Center, and the Burke Gilman Trail System. Now known as the University District Building.
